In a first for the popular shore resort, Wildwood added its first female to the 104-year-old firefighting force this week.
Christina Sacco was sworn in on Wednesday. She grew up in the city and is the daughter of Wildwood Fire Captain Aldo Sacco, the department said.
At the same ceremony, city officials welcomed a new chief, Daniel Speigel. He's a second-generation fire chief. Spiegel's father and retired chief, Floyd, took part in the ceremony.
