Suspicious Powder Found in Mailroom Was Plant Food

The powder-like substance was discovered early Wednesday morning in the mailroom of the Wells Fargo building.

A powder-like substance discovered in an Old City building early Wednesday morning was not a hazardous, according to fire officials.

In fact, officials tell NBC10 that the white powder found in the mailroom of the Wells Fargo building at 4th and Market Streets was actually plant food.

Employees called 911 and police and fire crews investigated the building and tested the substance.

Tests determined that the powder was a non hazardous material, said Fire Battalion Chief Asa Grimes.
 
4th Street was closed between Market and Arch Streets.
