Driver Dies After Being Shot in Van and Crashing Into West Philly Building

The 29-year-old man was driving a black dodge minivan on the 600 block of N. 52nd Street at 6:03 p.m. when a gunman opened fire.

A driver died from his injuries after he was shot while driving a minivan and then crashed into a building in West Philadelphia early Saturday evening.

The 29-year-old man was driving a "Virgin Hair Extensions" minivan on the 600 block of N. 52nd Street at 6:03 p.m. when a gunman opened fire. The victim was struck twice on his right side. He then crashed into the side of a commercial building.

The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m.

Police have not yet revealed the victim’s identity or a description of the suspect. They also haven’t recovered any weapons.
