2 Dead, 5 Hurt During Violent Night in Philly

Two people were killed and five people were hurt in five shootings in one night in Philadelphia Tuesday. 

The first shooting occurred in West Philadelphia. A 36-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were on the 1500 block of North Redfield Street at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday when an unidentified gunman opened fire before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. 

The man was struck once in the upper left back while the woman was struck once in the left buttocks.

Both victims were taken to Presbyterian Hospital. The man was pronounced dead at 6:42 p.m. The woman is in stable condition. 

The second shooting occurred in Germantown at 5:48 p.m. A 20-year-old man was shot twice in the upper left arm on the unit block of E. Seymour Street. He was taken to Einstein Hospital where he is currently in critical condition. 

The third shooting occurred at 7:32 p.m. on the 2200 block of N. 18th Street in North Philadelphia. A 31-year-old man was struck four times in the right leg and hip. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

The fourth shooting occurred on the 2900 block of Frankford Avenue in Kensington at 8:25 p.m. A 22-year-old man was struck once in the back while a 21-year-old man was grazed in the head. The 22-year-old was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:31 p.m. The 21-year-old was found at Cambria Street and was taken to Temple where he is currently stable. 

The fifth shooting occurred on the 5400 block of Ridgewood Street in West Philly shortly before 10 p.m. At least one person was shot and taken to Presbyterian Hospital. Police have not yet revealed his or her condition. 

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings. Police continue to investigate.
