The shooting happened about 10 p.m. in the 7300 block of Thouron Avenue in the city’s West Oak Lane section.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 46-year-old male on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds to his legs.

The officers then found a female, who was four-months pregnant, in the front passenger seat of a nearby SUV. The female was shot in the lower back.

Both victims were rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The 32-year-old female was rushed into surgery and is listed in critical condition. Her unborn child did not survive.

The 46-year-old male is listed in stable condition. He is believed to be the father of the child.

Investigators believe both victims were shot outside of the car and tried to get in and drive away.
