The rush is on to get the Thanksgiving holiday started and the less than cooperative weather is causing trouble across the area.
Rain, cold wind and fog has delayed flights for up to two hours at Philadelphia International Airport. Planes are backed up on the tarmac and in the skies. Those delays aren't just limited to the Philly area, big backups are reported at airports throughout the Northeast.
Airport officials are urging those traveling through the airport or those expecting loved ones to check their flight status at PHL.org or by calling 800.PHL.GATE (800.745.4283).
The roads aren't fairing much better. The Schuylkill Expressway is jammed for miles from the I-676 Interchange in Center City to the Mid-County Interchange in King of Prussia, Pa.
Portions of I-95, I-295, Route 42 and both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Turnpikes are also seeing slow going. Those traveling through the city should try and steer clear of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as preps for the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade are underway.
And you don't have to be in a car to be affected by road delays, those who jumped on buses like Bolt Bus and Mega Bus for cheap ways home will be stuck on the highway too.
