2 Suspects in Custody After Barricade Situation

The barricade situation is over, and police have taken two suspects into custody

Two men, wanted by police, have been taken into custody after a barricade situation on the 2000 block of Orthodox Street in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police tell NBC10 that both men are wanted for a home invasion, along with two other men. That home invasion happened at 2:40 p.m. Friday afternoon on the 3200 block of Emerald Street.

When police arrived at one of the suspect's homes on Orthodox Street, they saw a man stick his head out of a second story window, and then go back inside, according to Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan. All the doors of the home were locked.

The barricade situation lasted several hours on Friday.

A 2-year-old and 6-year-old child were taken out of the house by one of the suspects who spoke with officers on the phone.

The second suspect was found hiding in a crawl space on the second floor of the home. A third man who police are calling a "witness" was taken in for questioning.
