Vandals Spray Paint ‘Jesus Loves You' on Cancer Center

Police are trying to determine if vandals were caught on surveillance cameras spray-painting the words "Jesus loves you" and other graffiti on the front sign of a western Pennsylvania cancer center.

The Arnold Palmer Pavilion is located about 40 miles east of Pittsburgh and is a joint venture between Excela Health and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Police believe the Unity Township center was defaced sometime between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, when the vandalism was discovered.

Several girls' names and other words were sprayed on the brick sign at the landscaped entrance to the center.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Miele says, "I have no idea why anyone would target a cancer center. It's very strange."

The facility, which opened in 2002, treats about 130 patients daily.
