Urban Outfitters has Record Quarter, Plans to Roll Out Larger Stores

Urban Outfitters Inc., fresh off of a record-setting first quarter in which it rang in $763 million in sales, is rolling out what is calls the “ultimate life-style store.”

This new version of its popular Anthropologie store looks a lot like a traditional department store. However, it is smaller, chicer and layered with items that have a style and flare that veer from stereotypical luxury brands flooding the market that can be seen as an outward display of wealth or status.

The Philadelphia company is betting on this expanded concept to propel future sales and revenues.
