A suburban Philadelphia woman has been convicted of murder in the death of an infant for whom she was baby-sitting almost two decades ago.

Melissa Haskell, 38, of Upper Merion Township wept as jurors found her guilty of third-degree murder in the August 1992 death of 5-month-old Ryan Baurley while she was caring for the child at a King of Prussia home. The death was originally attributed to sudden infant death syndrome, but a coroner later said the boy died of suffocation and acute alcohol intoxication.

The Montgomery County panel reached a verdict after about three hours of deliberation Wednesday following seven days of testimony. On Tuesday, Haskell told the judge that she didn't want jurors given the option of convicting her of a lesser charges of manslaughter.
