Delaware State Student Shot and Killed While Driving to Work

New Castle County Police say a Delaware State University student was shot and killed in his car while he was on his way to work.

The department said in a news release that early Saturday, 19-year-old Malcolm Evans was driving to work when a single gunshot was fired into his car.

Police say the car crashed on Country Path Drive. Evans was taken to a hospital, where officers say he died Sunday afternoon.

The AP originally identified Evans as a University of Delaware student but the university later clarified that Evans attended Delaware State.
