Uber to Offer 1-Day Helmet Sale for Philadelphia Indego Bike Share

With Philadelphia's new bike share program Indego set to begin on Thursday, Uber is lending a hand -- well, helmet -- to anyone interested in biking Philly.

For just a $10 donation, you can grab a new helmet to make sure you're riding safely through Philly's streets.

Starting at 11 a.m. on April 23, simply put in a "HELMET" request on the Uber app, and a driver will arrive within minutes with a new helmet for you.

Your $10 donation will go straight to the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. And even better? The transportation company will match your donation!

The Metroride helmet is produced by Nutcase and certified for bicycle riding. It's one size fits most and comes with foam padding and an adjustable spin dial.

A full description of the Metroride can be found here.

The helmet option on the Uber app is available for anyone in the Philadelphia-area. Supplies are limited, and the promotion is a one-day event from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
