Jersey Shore Uber Driver Gets Into Backseat, Fondles Self

Police at the Jersey Shore are investigating after a woman claimed an Uber driver got into the back seat of his black car and inappropriately touched himself during a ride over Memorial Day Weekend.

Avalon Police became aware of the caught-on-camera incident after a seasonal resident contacted them over the holiday weekend and reported ride-share driver's actions. The woman apparently captured part of the incident on her cellphone.

β€œAvalon Police have served Uber with a Subpoena to identify the driver involved in this case, as is required by the Uber Legal Department,” read a news release from police.

Uber didn’t identify the driver, but did say he was no longer driving for the service. They added that he was licensed to operate in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Parking Authority, not in New Jersey.

"The driver has been permanently removed from the Uber platform for his inappropriate behavior, and we have reached out to the rider to apologize for such an uncomfortable experience.”

In the meantime, Avalon Police urged people down the shore to only use jitneys or taxis since those drivers go through annual license checks.
