UDel Students Arrested for Home Invasion, Assault

Three college students were arrested after they allegedly walked into an apartment, kicked in a bedroom door and beat up another student, according to Newark police.

University of Delaware students Andrew Lee, Jason Zimmell and Ayrton Doeer were arrested after they entered an unlocked apartment complex, kicked down the door to a bedroom inside one of the apartments and began kicking and punching a 22-year-old UDel student who was inside with a 20-year-old woman who also attends the university, police said in a press release.

During that attack, which happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, the men also allegedly hit the man with a candle jar.

Police say that all involved knew one another and that Lee had a casual relationship with the woman at one time.

The victim was treated at Christiana Hospital for a broken cheekbone, authorities said. He also had to have his head stapled and his face stitched.

All three suspects are facing multiple charges including home invasion and assault. They're ordered to cease all contact with the woman as well as the victim of the assault.
