Two Teens Hit by Del. Driver

The teens were walking on the shoulder of the road, when they were hit

New Castle county police are investigating a car accident involving two pedestrians, who were hit while walking on the shoulder of the road.

The accident happened Friday night on Acorn Drive, near the intersection of Oak Leaf Drive in Middletown, Del.

Police say a 28-year old Middletown man was heading northbound on Acorn Drive when he hit two teen pedestrians walking on the shoulder of the road.

The 17-year-old Newark man and 17-year-old Middletown woman were taken to Christiana Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The male victim had minor bruising to his legs. The female suffered a broken leg.

Police are still investigating the accident and charges are pending.
