Two Teens Hit By Car

Medical helicopter had to fly one teen to the hospital

Two teens were rushed to the hospital after they were hit by a car Thursday afternoon.

The 14-year-olds were crossing West Chester Pike near Eagle Road in Haverford, Pa. just before 2:30 p.m. when they were hit, police say.

Traffic was stopped, but a Saturn drove up the shoulder and struck the teens, police say.

Witnesses say the car was being driven in the shoulder by an elderly woman. Police believe the woman may have been trying to make a right turn onto Eagle Road.

The teens didn't suffer life-threatening injuries, but one had to be flown by a medevac chopper to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, police say.

Police are investigating and no charges have been filed.
