Five Accused in Alleged Ramapo College Sex Assault Plead Not Guilty

Four men and one woman have pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a woman at a party at a Ramapo College fraternity.

Prosecutors are offering the five plea deals stemming from the 2014 incident in which a woman who attended the party said she woke up undressed the next morning in a dorm room. Doctors found she had injuries consistent with non-consensual sex.

Prosecutors are offering 26-year-old Christian Lopez of Secaucus and 20-year-old Nakeem Gardner of Paterson a deal to plead guilty to second-degree sexual assault and serve 85 percent of an 8-year prison sentence.

Staten Island residents Christopher Rainone and Justin Sommers and Jordyn Massood of Wayne were offered a deal to plead guilty to endangerment.

The next court date is September.
