If you use the Roosevelt Expressway to get to and from work, you may want to consider a detour.
Crews started work on the Twin Bridges that span the Schuylkill River on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
The northbound left lanes will be closed on Route 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
That work will ultimately rehab and resurface the bridges and it will stretch through almost an entire year -- it should be completed by February of 2011.
Some alternate routes:
- Hunting Park Avenue
- Lincoln Drive (except for the first weekend in March)
- School House Lane
