I-195 Traffic Woes Continue After NJ Turnpike Crash

One lane of I-195 overpass remains closed day after deadly dump truck wreck

Motorists who use Interstate 195 to travel to Trenton should expect delays for the next few weeks following a deadly crash.

Westbound traffic is restricted to one lane at the I-195 overpass in Robbinsville after Wednesday morning's fiery dump truck crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Authorities say a dump truck overturned and burst into flames near Interchange 7A in Robbinsville. The driver, believed to be a 49-year-old Belleville man, was killed. The crash also damaged the overpass.

Officials say the westbound trip I-195 toward Trenton is expected to be "very difficult" for up to six weeks.

I-195 traffic will eventually use a new overpass that's under construction. Officials will try to accelerate completion of the project.

Eastbound lanes on I-195 and the turnpike in both directions are open.
