Trenton Fire Battalion Chief Aids Man Found Wounded on Street Corner

A Trenton fire battalion chief helped a stabbing victim get treatment after spotting him bleeding at an intersection on his return trip from a training detail.

NJ.com reports the unidentified victim was rushed to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center shortly after he was discovered by Trenton Fire Battalion Chief Gus Tackacs just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Tackacs provided medical attention to the victim and called in emergency medical personnel.

Police Lt. Stephen Varn says a preliminary investigation found that the victim was initially in a vehicle at the corner of West State Street and Laclede Avenue when he was first located by Tackacs.

A white car with blood streaks and smears was at the scene. Blood spatter covered a nearby sidewalk.

Trenton police detectives are investigating the stabbing.
