Toothless Robber Says She Hit up Bank for Denture Money

Woman who appeared sans teeth in surveillance video confesses to robbing a bank for dental budget

A 49-year-old woman who appeared toothless while robbing a bank in southwestern Pennsylvania last month confessed to police Tuesday, telling them that she was just trying to get money for dentures.

Evelyn Marie Fuller of Carmichaels, Pa., told police that she did indeed rob the First National Bank in Waynesburg Jan. 20, but it was only because welfare wouldnโ€™t help her out with dentures until next year, according to the Observer-Reporter.

After being caught in surveillance camera handing the teller a note and asking for a specific amount of cash, Fuller was recognized by one of the bankโ€™s employees as someone from her church, reports the Observer-Reporter.

Days later, a witness brought police a coat he had believed had been worn by the robber. The witness said that he gave the coat to Fuller and she later returned it to him, but no before he saw her wearing it in the surveillance photos, police say.

Fuller was arrested on two counts of robbery, one count of theft and one count of terroristic threats. Sheโ€™s being held in Green county jail on $75,000.

After her arraignment, Fuller told a reporter for the Observer-Reporter, โ€œI'm very sorry for what I did and I know God is going to punish me for it.โ€

Fuller says her pastor told her to tell the truth about what she did. She also asked the reporter to please publish, โ€œWWJD Thank you for all your prayers.โ€
