Delaware officials say they don't have enough money budgeted to pay to clear away the foot and half of snow that fell over the weekend.
The state has $3.2 million in its snow removal account. But Delaware Department of Transportation Secretary Carolann Wicks says every eight inches of snowfall costs between $3.5 million and $4 million to remove.
Because transportation crews still are removing snow, Wicks says the state does not know yet what the total cost will be for this storm.
