Thieves Steal 30 iPads From Montco School: Cops

Police are searching for two thieves who allegedly targeted a Montgomery County school.

Investigators say that last Monday, two men stole 30 iPads from Methacton High School in Eagleville.

The theft was discovered the next day by a biology teacher who had stored the iPads in a locked cabinet. The lock was cut and the iPads were gone.

Surveillance video shows an SUV entering the school parking lot around 11:13 p.m. Police say that two men climbed up the second floor roof and went through a window that had apparently been unlocked earlier.

The thieves then allegedly went through a shared office in the biology room where they stole the iPads.

Surveillance video also shows the thieves taking a smoking break on the roof later on. Police believe that the theft was an inside job.

“They would’ve had to have some type of knowledge of the building because they went from where they accessed the roof to where the actual window was,” said Mark Stead of the Lower Providence Township Police.

“You’d have to know where you were going.”

Police are examining surveillance video as well as forensic evidence left at the scene to catch the culprits.
