One officer and three thieves were injured during a chase in North Philadelphia, according to police.

It began Friday around 7:30 p.m. when police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on 13th and Diamond. Once police arrived, investigators say three suspects crashed the vehicle which they allegedly stole from Bensalem.

Police say all three men then tried to escape on foot. One suspect jumped over a concrete barrier but didn’t realize it had a significant drop, according to investigators. He fell 30-feet and was critically injured.

Police say the other two suspects suffered minor injuries during the chase. Finally, one police officer twisted his left ankle during the pursuit. He was taken to Roxborough Hospital where he is expected to be treated and released.

All three suspects were arrested without further incident and are currently being treated at the hospital.
