Temple University Installs 10th President

With pageantry and celebration, Temple University will officially install its 10th president Neil D. Theobald today.

Theobald is being joined by other dignitaries including Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett and Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley, a Temple graduate, for Friday morning’s installation at the historic Baptist Temple on the North Philadelphia campus.

NBC10 is carrying the ceremony LIVE.

Theobald took over at Temple on Jan. 1 after Ann Weaver Hart left to take the helm at the University of Arizona. Before coming to Temple, Theobald served as Indiana University senior vice president.

On Friday, Theobald is expected to announce his plan for the future of the university and its multi-billion dollar budget.

Temple serves about 39,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
