Temple Student Robbed at Gunpoint, 1 Suspect Arrested

Police have arrested one of two suspects accused of robbing a Temple University student as he left a home near the school's North Philadelphia campus.

The man, whose identity still hasn't been confirmed, was nabbed shortly after committing the crime around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The 22-year-old student was leaving a home along the 1800 block of W. Berks Street when he was approached by the suspects. According to police, one man was armed with a silver semi-automatic pistol and both demanded the student hand over his iPhone 6.

He complied and the suspects ran away.

Officers on patrol in the area later spotted one man that matched the offender's description. Once stopped, police found the victim's iPhone, police said. He was then placed under arrest.

The second suspect remains at large. Police did not release a description of him.
