Teens Charged as Adults Following Beating Death of Homeless Man in Northeast Philadelphia

Three teenage boys are facing murder charges after a 57-year-old homeless man was beaten to death in Northeast Philadelphia last month.

Brandon Conrad, 14, and Malik Page, 16, were charged with criminal conspiracy, murder, robbery and related offenses. Emmanuel Harris, 17, was also charged with aggravated assault, robbery and related offenses in addition to murder.

All three teens were charged as adults. They were students at Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, police said. School officials helped police identify the suspects, according to investigators.

Cullen is described as transient but not necessarily homeless, according to officials.

Police found Kevin Cullen on Nov. 26 beaten, bloody and unconscious on the ground with his pockets empty. No money was stolen, police said.

One resident who lives near the scene previously said she heard a group of teens laughing as they ran away.

He was transported to a hospital and died from his injuries the next day.

Cullen's brother, Tom Cullen, said he was well-known in the city's Mayfair neighborhood and "loved deeply."

Editor's Note: Philadelphia police initially said Emmanuel Harris was charged with attempted murder. He is facing murder charges.
