Teenager Shoots Neighbor in the Head: Police

Delaware State Police say a woman was shot in the head yesterday in Selbyville, and her next-door neighbor has been charged with attempted murder.

Troopers responding to a 911 call at about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday found the 25-year-old victim sitting outside an SUV in front of a home on Hosier Street. She was flown to Christiana Medical Center, where police say she is in critical condition.

Officers say the victim's neighbor, 18-year-old Devon Gordon, had met with her in the SUV 3 a.m. and shot her. Authorities say Gordon also fired shots in his home, where his mother and a 49-year-old man live.

According to police the man in the home saw that glass in the home was shattered by a bullet and that Gordon had a gun. The man was able to disarm Gordon but not before the gun fired again, according to police.

The man suffered minor injuries during the scuffle.

Gordon was charged with two counts of attempted murder and weapons charges. He was held on $310,000 cash bond. More charges could be added, according to investigators.
