Teen Pleads Guilty in Deadly Texting Crash

A Chester County teen has pled guilty in the texting while driving crash that killed her friend and the girl’s unborn child.

Meghan Obendorfer, 19, was driving along wet Route 282 in East Brandywine Township, Pa. on June 16 when her silver PT Cruiser crashed into a school bus.

Nicolette Pomon, 17, and her unborn child were killed. She was set to give birth to the child the next day.

Investigators found Obendorfer’s cell phone in the wreck and discovered drafts of text messages to friends. They later charged her in the girl’s death.

Obendorfer pled guilty to the crime Friday in a Chester County court, according to the Daily Times. She also made a tearful apology to Pomon’s family during the plea.

Obendorfer faces one to two years in prison.
