A 14-year-old girl died after falling eight stories from an apartment building in King of Prussia, Pa.
According to police, she was trying to climb out the window of her room using a makeshift rope after being grounded by her foster parents.
The victim lived in Building C of the Marquis Apartments on DeKalb Pike.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Upper Merion Middle School Principal Dr. Karen Geller identified the girl as seventh grader Jessica Bacon.
Police say the Bacon was sent to her room after being disciplined by her foster parents.
She didn't want to stay put so she fastened together shoe laces and various electrical cords and tied them to a heating unit in her room so she could lower herself down.

After going out the window, the makeshift rope gave way or the girl lost her grip and she fell to the garage roof below, according to police.
Lt. Michael Martin says Bacon was taken to a hospital where she died Tuesday night.
The Montgomery County Coroner's Office ruled the death accidental.
Montgomery County spokesman Frank Custer said officials are confident that all foster care protocols were followed.
Grievance counselors were on hand at Upper Merion Middle School to talk to any students struggling with Bacon's death, Geller said.
