Teen Electrocuted in Hide-and-Seek

Boy, 14, hid behind a dryer while playing a game with his cousins Friday

A 14-year-old boy died of electrocution after accidentally touching electrical wires while playing hide-and-seek at his aunt’s Wilkes-Barre house Friday.

Ebon C. Foose of Hop Bottom, Pa., was playing with his cousins in the Abbott Street home. Firefighters and police found the boy between a clothes dryer and a wall, reports the Citizen’s Voice.

Foose was brought to a local hospital where he was declared dead.

“Kids, and often adults, don't realize how dangerous electricity can be,” Luzerne County Coroner John Corcoran told the Citizen’s Voice, reiterating that the accidental death is a cautionary tale.

The boy who liked playing basketball and running track was about to start high school in the fall.
