Teen Charged in Del. Armed Robberies

A teenager from Newark, Delaware was arrested Monday in connection with several armed and attempted robberies.

Jared Gomez, 17, was arrested at his home and charged in the attempted robbery of a 7-Eleven on Red Mill Road, the robberies of two 7-Elevens, a Gulf and Riggins Gas Station.

The robberies began on October 25 when a masked Gomez flashed a gun and demanded money from the clerk at the 7-Eleven on Kirkwood Highway, according to police.

They say he struck again on October 29, November 2 and November 3.

In all of the crimes, the suspect wore a mask and threatened his victims with a gun, authorities said.
