Police have charged an 18-year-old with murder in connection to the fatal beating of a retired postal worker in Pennsylvania.
The Delaware County District Attorney's office announced Tramaine Warfield's arrest Thursday, saying he is facing charges of second and third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Darby Borough Police say they found 57-year-old Brad Hayes with severe injuries in the backseat of his car Oct. 24, 2017. He was transported to a Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland said surveillance video captured Warfield beating and stomping on Hayes outside of his car and then putting him in the backseat.
Warfield tried to drive away in the same car but failed to do so, instead running off down Summit Street, Copeland said.
Police said Warfield stole Hayes' wallet and cellphone during the attack.
"In this case, the victim, Brad Hayes, was robbed and brutally beaten to death at the bare hands of Tramaine Warfield, who clearly has no regard for human life, as he fled the murder scene, leaving the victim to die alone," Copeland in a news release.

DNA tests of Hayes' possessions, including his jeans and Philadelphia Eagles jersey, identified Warfield as a possible match, the district attorney said. Police obtained a DNA sample and interviewed Warfield on Dec. 11.
Warfield has also been charged with criminal homicide and robbery inflicting serious bodily injury.
