Teen Boy Accused of Shooting, Killing Man During Robbery

A teen boy was charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a man in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday.

Police say 15-year-old Daymere Wisher of New Castle approached 32-year-old Jason Turner on N. Pine Street and tried to rob him.

Wisher allegedly pulled out a .32 caliber revolver and fired, striking Turner in the chest, before fleeing the scene.

Police officers responded to the scene and Turner was taken to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

After gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, detectives determined that Wisher was the one who shot and killed Turner.

Investigators say a 16-year-old boy took the murder weapon and tried to hide it for Wisher. A 17-year-old boy, who is currently on probation, also allegedly provided false statements to investigators on the shooting.

The three teens were taken into custody Saturday night.

Wisher is charged with first degree murder, first degree robbery and other related offenses. The 16-year-old boy is charged with tampering with physical evidence while the 17-year-old boy is charged with violation of probation and providing a false written statement to law enforcement officers.

All three suspects are being held at Wilmington Police Headquarters pending arraignment.
