Police responded to a report of a suspicious package found at a Delaware Wawa on Sunday.
It happened at the Wawa Convenience Store on the 1500 block of North DuPont Highway in New Castle.
Police say a suitcase was left at the gas pumps unattended. The Delaware State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit responded to the scene around 12 p.m.
State troopers evacuated the Wawa as well as the Parkway Shopping Center located directly south of the store as a precaution.
The EOD Unit examined the suitcase and determined it to be non-explosive. The scene was declared safe with all units clearing.
Both US Route 13 northbound at Boulden Boulevard and US Route 13 southbound at I-95 were closed for an hour with traffic being diverted around the area. Route 13 was then reopened after investigators determined the area was safe.
