A local Whole Foods grocery store was evacuated Sunday afternoon after a suspicious package was found outside the building.
Police were called to the Whole Foods at the Plymouth Meeting Mall on the 500 block of W. Germantown Pike around 1 p.m. When they arrived they discovered a suspicious package which appeared to be a briefcase, outside the store.
The Whole Foods and several nearby stores were evacuated. The bomb squad was called to the scene and investigators determined the item was harmless. Employees and customers were then allowed back inside.
It was the second time since July that a suspicious item was found outside the store.
