Suspension Lifted in College Band Hazing

Officials at Delaware State University say an investigation into alleged hazing involving the school's marching band has found some instances of minor hazing.

Officials said Tuesday that the hazing activities did not result in any injuries to any members of the band, which includes the marching band, pep bands, jazz ensembles, concert band, and flag and dance teams.

Of the 150 members of the band groups, investigators identified 16 students who reportedly engaged in minor hazing. Officials said those students will face school judicial affairs hearings and will be dismissed from the band if found guilty of the violating the student code of conduct.

In announcing the results of the investigation, the university lifted a suspension imposed last month on all band performance activities at the historically black institution.
