Suspended Pennsylvania Trooper Reaches Plea Agreement in Sex Abuse Case

A suspended Pennsylvania state trooper has reached a plea agreement that will spare him a felony conviction on sex assault charges.

Forty-six-year-old Patrick Finn agreed Friday to a deal with Luzerne County prosecutors in which he will plead guilty to a charge of corruption of minors.

In exchange, prosecutors reduced the charge to a misdemeanor and dropped indecent assault counts that would have labeled Finn a sex offender if he was convicted.

Finn, a corporal with the state police barracks in Carlisle, was accused of molesting a 9-year-old in December. He was suspended without pay after the charges were filed in February.

Defense attorney Demetrius Fannick said he hopes the plea agreement will "lead to a conclusion in this case.''
