Tough times could have led two men to steal used car batteries from a South Jersey Wal-Mart.
Evesham Township Police are looking for the men they believe are involved in four separate robberies at a Marlton Wal-Mart.
The Wal-Mart on Route 70 East was robbed overnight twice in January, once in late February and just last week, police said.
During each incident, car batteries were stolen from a secure area outside the back of the store. In total the guys made off with more than 100 batteries, said cops.
The alleged crooks were possibly targeting the batteries for the lead cores, which can be sold as scrap metal.
“People are desperate to get money and they’re gonna go with the easiest way they can get it,” said U.S. marine Brian Worthington.
It is unclear how much money the alleged crooks could get for the scrap.

The alleged thieves can be seen on tape pulling up in newer model Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee with chrome rims. Once they pull up they worked quickly loading the stolen goods into the trunk.
One of the men is described as a white male wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a logo on the back, authorities said.
They are looking into if thefts at a Lumberton Wal-Mart and other stores could be related to the Marlton crimes.
Police hope someone will recognize the men from the March 10 robbery before they possibly strike again.
