Suspect Surrenders in Motel Parking Lot Slaying

Delaware State Police said a 25-year-old man is facing murder charges after a fatal stabbing in Bear.

Eric Ramirez, of Newark, turned himself in Saturday evening, police said. He's charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 46-year-old William Forrester, of Newark. Ramirez is being held without bail.

The two men were fighting early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the West Motel when Ramirez pulled a knife and stabbed Forrester. Ramirez fled the scene, police said. Forrester was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Investigators had identified Ramirez as a suspect and were looking for him when they were told he wanted to turn himself in.
