Suspect Arrested in Norristown CVS Stabbing

Palmer Rodriguez, Jr. is charged with first degree murder, according to authorities.

Norristown Police have made an arrest in connection with the stabbing death of an 18-year-old at a local CVS over the weekend.

Police have arrested Palmer Rodriguez, Jr. for the stabbing death of Jervonte Tyler.

Rodriguez is being charged with first and third degree murder as well as possession of an instrument of crime, according to authorities.

Police say that on Aug 6 around 1:45 p.m., they responded to the Norristown CVS for a reported stabbing.

When they arrived on the scene, they found Tyler on the ground bleeding after he was allegedly stabbed in the chest by Rodriguez following a heated argument, police say.

Tyler was rushed to Montgomery Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Rodriguez, who fled the scene on foot, was arrested at a friend’s house.

According to authorities, both men were living together with a few others. Rodriguez was kicked out of the house the previous day and returned to the residence causing an argument between the men that resulted in the stabbing.
