Fire Breaks Out at Strip Mall

Fire broke out at an area strip mall overnight.

Flames began to shoot from a second-floor business at the Bustleton-Welsh stores located along the 1900 block of Welsh Road in the Bustleton section of Northeast Philadelphia around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Philadelphia firefighters, no one was hurt in the blaze.

It took firefighters only about 20 minutes to put out the fire.

No official word was given on what caused the fire at the strip of stores that includes a nail salon and dentist's office.

Firefighters, however, focused in on the second floor window of a corner spa. They said it's possible that the fire was electrical in nature and began in that business.

It wasn’t clear if the fire damaged any of the other businesses.
