Strike's Off for Pa Healthcare Workers

Health care workers in Scranton say they have decided against walking off the job as planned next week.

WNEP-TV said workers at Regional Hospital of Scranton planned to hold a one-day strike next Tuesday, but union leaders say that strike will not happen since negotiations with the hospital were successful.

Salary, health benefits, and the threat of outsourcing were part of the contract negotiations.

About 800 hospital employees, including registered nurses and other professionals, technologists, technicians, and service and maintenance workers, are covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
