Next Storm Could Bring Flooding

Storm is set to move in Thursday and Friday bringing more precipitation

The next storm is set to move in Thursday and Friday bringing more precipitation to the area.

This time instead of snow expect rain.

Warmer air will be moving in, so aside from a few areas to the north, where it could start as snow or ice, everyone should see rain. Rain comes, however, with its share of problems -- especially on Friday when it could be heavy at times and even contain a thunderstorm.

The recent snow was plowed off the streets but now sits on top of numerous storm drains so Friday's rain could have no place to go. If this is the case then during periods of heavy rain areas with poor drainage or storm drains blocked by snow, ice or debris could flood quickly.

If you were driving during heavy rain it would be a good idea to slow down especially when moving through low areas or intersections, as these will have a tendency to flood first.

Once the rain ends Friday night the temperature is forecasted to quickly drop below freezing.  This could cause water left on roadways to freeze. If you are out early Saturday this could be a problem.
