Man Stabbed in the Chest With Butcher Knife During Fight Inside Philly Home: Police

A man is in the hospital after police say he was stabbed in the chest with a butcher knife during a fight inside a home in the Logan section of the city.

A group of friends were inside a home on the 1300 block of Ruscomb Street around 1 a.m. Saturday when a 53-year-old man attacked a 52-year-old man with an unknown sharp object, investigators said.

A 41-year-old man tried to intervene but was stabbed in the head by the 52-year-old man, according to investigators. The 52-year-old man then continued fighting the 53-year-old, according to police. The scuffle ended when the 52-year-old man stabbed the 53-year-old in the chest with a butcher knife, investigators said.

Police soon arrived at the scene. The 41-year-old man refused medical attention and was taken to Northwest Detectives for a n interview. The 53-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he is currently in critical condition. The 52-year-old was taken into custody without incident.

Both the 52-year-old and 53-year-old will be charged with aggravated assault and other related offenses. Police have not yet revealed their identities.
