2 Arrests After Catholic Youth Center Fight

Disturbance breaks out Monday morning at youth detention facility

Two juveniles were under arrest Monday morning after a fight broke out at Saint Gabriel’s Hall in Audobon, Pa.

Officers were called the juvenile center’s dining hall around 11:45 a.m. for what Lower Providence Township Police called a disturbance that staff couldn’t get under control.

The Philadelphia Archdiocese told NBC10 that the disturbance was a fight.

The facility, which is owned by the Philadelphia Archdiocese and operated by the Christian Brothers, serves as a detention center for court committed males between 10 and 18 years old.

Lower Providence Township Police say they received help from five other departments to get the incident under control. After a little more than 10 minutes the disturbance was over, police said.

Two males were arrested. One faces charged with aggravated assault and related offense for allegedly attacking two Saint Gabe’s staff members while the other faces disorderly conduct charges, police said.

There were no reports of injuries.
