South Jersey Pizzeria Marino's to Close for Major Renovations

Get your pizza fill now: An upscale fast-casual pizzeria in South Jersey will close this weekend to undergo a month-long expansion that will double its footprint and add more seating.

Marino's of Mullica Hill, a farm-to-table pizza concept inside Mullica Hill Commons Shopping Center in Gloucester County, New Jersey, is coming up on its fifth anniversary in its space, and the owners decided it's time for a face lift.

They plan to knock down some walls to take over the vacant space next door, doubling the 2,000-square-foot restaurant's to 4,000 square feet. It will close after business on Saturday. The restaurant's seating capacity will go from 40 to 90 seats inside and from 12 to 24 seats outside.

The restaurant will reopen on Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. with a "pizza-cutting" of a 6-foot-long pizza. The restaurant will be offering $1 slices and $5 medium plain pizzas all day.

The larger space will include a reconfigured kitchen, upgraded equipment, and more preparation and refrigeration space. The new kitchen allows for staff to keep up with additional orders and faster food assembly.
