Some Small NJ Marinas Still Waiting for Sandy Aid

Nearly a year after Superstorm Sandy hit New Jersey, some small marina owners are still waiting for money to help rebuild their shattered businesses.

Kristi Munro Hanselmann's marina in Little Egg Harbor Township suffered $1.4 million in damage last October. She was upset recently when the state announced that three larger marinas that cater to a higher-end clientele were getting funds from a federal grant program.

She tells The Press of Atlantic City that Gov. Chris Christie's office told her those grants were separate from the Sandy relief package approved by Congress for New Jersey, but she says the way they were publicized was misleading.

Munro Hanselmann says she and other small marina owners have spent their savings but aren't close to being fully recovered from the storm.
