Jersey Shore starlet Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has been released from jail after being arrested in Seaside Heights, N.J., police tell NBC Philadelphia.

Snooki was taken into custody on the Seaside Heights beach at Fremont Avenue and then booked on charges of disorderly conduct around 3:30 p.m. Friday, officials say.

Police arrested the reality star after she was seen "acting in a disorderly manner."

Polizzi yelled enough four letter words at the officers to make a sailor blush, the New York Daily News reported. "Do you know who I am? I'm f---ing Snooki," the pint-sized reality actress told cops.  "You can't do this to me - I'm f---ing Snooki. You guys are going to be sorry for this - release me!"

Entertainment blog TMZ has photos of Snooki pouring what appeared to be Coca-Cola into a beer bong on the Seaside Heights boardwalk before her arrest. They also have video of her falling off a bicycle in front of a store before her arrest.

Several members of the popular reality show's cast -- including Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino -- quickly made their way to the town's jail to visit their cast mate.

Less than an hour after Snooki's arrest, fellow cast member Jenni "J-WOWW" Farley tweeted she was "on her way" to spring her friend from jail. A Twitter hashtag of #FreeSnooki quickly made its way across the Twittersphere following news of the star's detainment.

Snooki was released from custody sometime around 7 p.m. Friday.

Throngs of fans screamed her name as she walked out of the police station with other members of the show's cast -- including J-WOWW, Vinny Guadagnino and Paulie DelVecchio.

J-WOWW proudly sported a pink "Free Snooki" tank as she hopped into the crew's black Cadillac Escalade.

Snooki's arrest comes just a day after the Jersey Shore crew started filming Season 3 of the popular MTV series. Season 2 also just premiered on the network Thursday.

Controversy has followed Jersey Shore and its cast since the reality show debuted on MTV in 2009. Producers have been blasted by affinity groups for portraying Italian-Americans in a poor light.

More recently, the show's cast has been at odds with New Jersey's governor. Gov. Chris Christie said the show damages the Garden State's image.

"What it does is takes a bunch of New Yorkers… drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey," Gov. Christie told ABC's Jake Tapper on This Week last Sunday. "I can tell people: they want to know what New Jersey really is? I welcome them to come to New Jersey any time.”

The self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes fired back on the TODAY Show Monday saying it doesn't matter where they call home.

“Our show is about coming to the shore and having a good time. We don’t have to be from Jersey,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi said. Snooki is from Marlboro, N.Y.

When asked if Gov. Christie had anything to say about Snooki's arrest, his office declined comment.

The disorderly conduct charge is a misdemeanor and does not carry bail. Snooki was issued a summons to appear in court on August 18.
