Arrests in Smash and Grab at Macy's

Two suspects busted at Jersey shore motel

Two suspects were arrested Saturday in connection with a break-in at the Macy's store in the Hamilton Mall in Atlantic County, NJ.

John Scalise of Secaucus and his wife, Kathy Garcia, were taken into custody at the Sunset Motel on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township.

Police say Scalise smashed a door at Macy's early Saturday morning, then did the same to a jewelry case. He got away with about $66-thousand dollars worth of luxury watches. 

Scalise is also accused of burlgarizing four Jersey shore restaurants earlier in the week.

Investigators tell NBC10 Scalise is wanted for dozens of burglaries in Florida and in Idaho for aggravated assault.

The couple was allegedly in possesion of more than $100-thousand dollars worth of stolen property.

Both are now behind bars.
